Gozo to Comino Ferry: All Options Explained
By Yippee Tours • Last updated 08 Jul 2026
Comino
Surrounded by turquoise waters and almost uninhabited, Comino is the third island part of the Maltese archipelago after Malta and Gozo. While visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to getting to Comino Island from Malta, there are fewer options for those departing from Gozo.
However, a few companies run a Gozo to Comino ferry service. You can also opt for boat tours or private boat charters, which are a great alternative for a more special experience.
The famous Blue Lagoon (Comino), a popular attraction in Malta, awaits!

Ferry service from Gozo to Comino
Many visitors choose to hop onto a ferry to get to Comino and its Blue Lagoon.
The Gozo to Blue Lagoon (Comino) ferry service is located at Mġarr Harbour (Gozo), where the Malta-Gozo ferry terminal can also be found. The boats berth at the Blue Lagoon.
Please note that some ferry services offer to take you to Comino from Malta and then to Gozo instead of returning you to Malta, and vice versa.
Operators
The ferry service between the islands of Gozo and Comino is run by Ebsons Comino Ferries and Bella Comino Ferry.
They provide round-trip service from and to Mġarr Harbour (Gozo), and Ebsons Comino Ferry also offers a return to Ċirkewwa (Malta).
Schedule
The boats leave every hour from Mġarr Harbour (Gozo). The Comino ferry service operates pretty much throughout the whole day, but bear in mind that the last return journey is early during the winter so plan accordingly to have enough time to visit Comino and not get stranded on the island.

Prices
A basic return ticket costs €10, and a round-trip including a visit to the Comino caves up to €15. Children benefit from a discounted price.
Ticket purchase
Most people buy their return ticket on the spot, before boarding the Comino ferry. You’ll find ticket booths and sellers at Mġarr Harbour, opposite the Gozo to Malta ferry terminal.
Both companies also offer you to purchase your ticket online prior to boarding the Gozo to Comino ferry, sometimes with a small discount.
Services included
The ferries are small and have nothing in common with the main Malta to Gozo ferry. Onboard amenities are, in fact, nonexistent; there are no toilet facilities, only seats.
Due to its small size, the ferry can’t carry cars or other vehicles. Pets are not allowed onboard.
You’re allowed to bring your own food and drinks on board, as well as one carry-on luggage per passenger.
As mentioned above, the Gozo to Blue Lagoon ferry service offers a round trip including a small tour to Comino caves, usually on the return journey. If you choose this option, mind the ferry timetable because only some of the boats leaving the Blue Lagoon (Comino) actually tour the caves. Ask the staff if you have any doubts.
